I have heard a wide variety of music in this city. Starting with jazz which is expected around here. Jazz is very popular in New Orleans and is considered the birthplace of jazz. There are many great artists that had their start in this great city. If you happen to find yourself on Bourbon street the music gets a little more modern with rap, pop, and even country. Personally, Bourbon street was not as fun as I thought it might be. Frenchmen street is the place to go for some good music. My favorite place on Frenchmen street would have to be Bamboula’s the music there was fantastic. It was a little jazzy and a little bit of rock and roll. It was so loud you barely hear anyone talk to you. The beat makes you want to get up and dance. There wasn't much room to dance but everyone got up and danced in the small area. After the band ended the whole crowd requested for an encore, but the band was ready to head back home. It was a great experience going there and listening to that wonderful music that brought people together. Along with the bands playing indoors, nearly every corner you would turn there were street musicians. You couldn't walk anywhere without hearing some kind of clarinet, trumpet, or violin. Our tour guide had us make a stop to listen to his cousin who was a street artist and she was absolutely amazing on the clarinet and had great vocals. She was one of the best out there, but here were so many good ones too. I loved that about this city, no matter where you were the streets were full of a culture that's never died.
