Day Two: Outer

One of the things I was most worried about for this train ride is my motion sickness on the train. Walking onto the train I was nervous because of the very tight staircase we had to walk up to our seats. Our seats were unlike the staircase they were pretty big and we had a lot of foot space. Seventeen hours of vibrating train cars and being on the second level meant we would sway a little more. Sitting on the train I can constantly feel movement and vibrations and in open areas you can feel the sway a little more. In the background I can hear the train horn and chatter amongst the passengers of the train. People are up walking back and forth through the aisle. It’s like calm chaos inside the train. Once I can get past the constant vibrating of the train the continuous clacking of the train of the rails can be almost relaxing. While all the movement can sometimes make me feel sick sitting near a window helps. Watching through the window is my favorite thing to do in car rides as well as train rides. I have spent most of my morning listening to my music and looking out the window. Looking at the little towns we pass through. Watching as the landscape changes as move further south to our destination. The trees look different and the animals start to look different. I was getting really excited once I started seeing the big tall palm trees the farther south we got.
