Outer Journey:
My name is Hope Newell I am in my second year at Methodist College and I am in the nursing program. I had decided to sign up for the New Orleans travel course with some friends, seeing it as a great opportunity for us to get a class done in a week and see some amazing sights in the city. I have never been to New Orleans so packing has been a bit difficult and I have definitely been procrastinating it. As I was looking through my closet deciding what to wear I remembered my teacher talking about the fun styles of those native to New Orleans. I enjoy fashion and feel like I have a unique style and I want to express that a bit, along with being comfortable. I still am not fully packed for this trip but I’m starting to get some of it together. Lucky for me this travel course is happening after Christmas and I got to go shopping with all my Christmas money to buy some new clothes and shoes. I am so excited to wear my new outfits to New Orleans. Preparing to leave is something I am not too worried about fortunately I have a great family that will take care of my dog and my apartment. Preparing for the train has been interesting because I don’t really know what to expect. I have never been on a train. The only means of travel I know is car or a charter bus that I took for school trips in high school. Neither of those required a weight limit or having to go through a station. I have been trying to make sure I don’t over pack because I have the tendency to do that. Overall it’s been another fun experience preparing for travel. I love going to new destinations and this is another to add to my list!
