Today was not as busy is other days. We started at the presbytere, which is one of the twin buildings on either side of the St. Louis Cathedral. This was personally my favorite museum that we have been too. The first level was an exhibit on hurricane Katrina, which was incredibly devastating for the city. There was a room where we heard stories of people who helped others and it was so impacting to listen to their stories I couldn’t imagine having to go through a tragedy like that. The next level of the presbytere was the Mardi Gras museum which was full of beautiful costumes worn by the previous queens and kings of Mardi Gras. They were very intricate and just so fun. I would have loved to be able to wear one. After the Presbytere, we went over to the other twin building which was the Cabildo. The cabildo was full of item from history. I really enjoyed looking at the old portraits of people and there families from many years ago. They are so realistic and look like photos. I wonder how they got small children to sit still for these portraits. Our last stop for class was the jazz museum. My favorite exhibit was the Louis Prima exhibit I listened to a lot of his music and enjoyed it more than I thought I would. He had some really fun pictures and album covers as well. After the museum’s we were on our own time and we decided to check out bourbon street. It was actually pretty dead out there which I wasn’t expecting. So, we walked down the street and decided Frenchmen street would be better. We stop at a place called Bamboulas which had live music and it was really good. I love sitting there listening to it a couple of us got up and dance a little as well. We ended our night well.
